Surprise!

What a nice surprise, Kevin came home from camp (only for a week but I'll take what I can get, lol. He went and picked the kids up from school which they thought was cool and then of course one of their first questions was, "did you bring the playstation home with you?"
Later in the evening though we had an unfortunate accident happen. Seth dived for the couch as Blake was sitting down and as you can guess sat hurt Seth's arm. It was one of those things that before the crying even starts you know it's not going to be good. I could tell he was hurt but not enough for a trip to the hospital, (thank goodness). Then this morning he was jumping around like a lunatic and hurt it again. This time I'm thinking that we should take him to get some x-rays. Kevin spent the day doing that with him. Seth was such a trooper, he didn't cry or anything, so kind of makes you think that maybe there isn't much wrong with him. The Dr said that she would try to take a look at them tomorrow afternoon and let us know if something is up. It might be a green fracture. Don't ask me to explain it just trust me it's not as bad as other brakes but still.
......WTF? TRY to take a look at it?!?!?! What the heck is that about? arg! if it doesn't get done, I think I might have a little fit.Don't ask me to explain what a green fracture is but it's not as bad as the others, BUT STILL!
Anyways he seems to be fine now. Mommy and Daddy are more traumatized than he is, lol. Posted by Hello

Morning thieves

We usually save grapes to eat in school lunches or at night when we are watching movies. The kids didn't realize that I had gotten out of bed (somehow watching Nammy crawl around didn't tip them off, lol) I go to the bathroom and when I come out this is what I find. They even corrupted Nam. Now how can you get mad at this, lol. As you can see Nam is focused on the bowl of grapes that no one will share with her. I'm sure if she could count she'd be counting down the days until she gets molars.
Well I finally finished "The Da Vinci Code", Good book! Not my usual read but a good book that I would recommend. Then last night I watched the "Da Vinci Code Decoded" DVD. Very fascinating! If you enjoyed the book you'll love this. It's a documentary about some of the truth in the book. Anyways, I think I found the next book I want to read. "Holy Blood, Holy Grail". Has anyone else read it? What did you think? Posted by Hello

Careful, it's icy out there!

This is a picture of my driveway, but just to give you an idea of what the roads around here look like. It was so bad that the school busses were canceled and there was talk of preparing to keep some of the children over night at the schools because alot of the roads were closed. Talk about make me worry, but Blake and Beau were disappointed that they didn't get to have a sleep over inthe school gym.
Ya, right happy birthday to me! My babies are stuck somewhere without me because of bad weather... nope can't see that going over very well, no cake, no kids to make me laugh, yup that would be a real bummer. (don't worry guys everything worked out, we're all well and at home)
Oh did I say birthday? That's right I turned 30 today. With all the hype of the big three-oh birthday wise cracks I would have thought I would have started growing a beard or gotten a hip replacement or at the very least have my knee give out on me. Sorry that's a pop-shot at Kevin my big crybaby dh. It's a long story, rofl.(chel giggles to herself)
Anyways, after the roads cleared up a bit, I took the kids to swimming lessons and the over to my moms place were we had a delicious chili and yummy ice cream cake. Ugh, it was hard to not to hunch over the cake like a savage and grow at people, or I mean... what?!? Come on I can't be the only one who loves ice cream cake. Well after I restrained the breast within I got a cute card from them. har har very funny by the way. You're birthday's are coming along some day, and you'll get yours. I have a memory like an elephant ...or was that a mud skipper ... oh forget, it I can't remember. I also got a cool pair of sissors. No I not a goober, they are special quilting sissors not just any old things. I also got a computer chair, which my butt is telling me to say thank you for. Very comfy indeed. Lots of snuggles from my kiddos and a really nice phone call from my dh.
All in all a very strange yet nice day. Posted by Hello

My computer junkies.

Blake, Seth and Beau doing one of their favorite pastimes. They are only allowed to use the computer and playstation on the weekends (except for homework). Harsh, I know but I seem to have junkies on my hand and if I let them they would play with their electronics 24 and 7.
This weekend went quite nicely, we have friends that just moved back into town that we haven't seen in a while so we got to spend sometime with them, which was really nice. I went shopping at the warehouse and apparently everyone else had the same idea because it was insane. I thought to myself I'd better get out of here before it gets any worse... I waited atleast 15 mins. in line (no kidding and maybe even longer) because there was only two tills open. I would have left but I really needed diapers for Nam and milk. And just the thought of putting all the kids back in the van to go shopping somewhere else, gave me a headache. Lucky for me the kids were great... up until the very last second, right when I was putting the stuff on the counter, ugh. The cashier tried to make some joke about Seth being grouchy. Now up to this moment I hadn't said a thing just kept my happy face on and joked around with the kids, while other customers complained very loudly (and rudely I might add). All I did was look at her (I'm sure it looked like I was going to snap her head off in about two seconds), I'm like, "You might want to back up before you get some of this on you!!" ... Well ok I didn't say that but I was thinking it very loudly, LOL. It must have done the trick though because she said, "Bad joke, sorry." I just pasted on that nice smile again and said "It's ok, we all get grumpy sometimes."
Well off we go to load up the van, and holy crap man, we race to the van (of course the kids are laughing like crazy thinking moms a nut), I stuff them in then go around back to put in the groceries and I kid you not, I almost got frost bite. You know it's cold when you have to turn you're head away from the wind to catch you're breath. Yup it was -35 degrees Celsius. Now at this moment others might have said forget the cart man I'm starting to lose fingers. But ooohhhh no, not me, I may only have 3 fingers left by the time I'm done but I getting that frigin quarter back!( don't ask why, I probably had frost bite on my head). I get back in the van and Seth is screaming, "I have to go PEE!!!!!" That's when I realize, yup it's confirmed, Hell has frozen over and I am the three fingered gate keeper. Posted by Hello

The view out the front of my house.

I realize this isn't the greatest picture but trust me it's beautiful. Minus the neighbors house, not that it's not cute or anything, but it does disrupt the view, lol. Now why would I send this picture out? I just had to tell everyone how cold it is here this morning.
It is about 9:30 am and -34degrees Celsius,. For my American friends that's about, now don't quote me exactly, but that's about -28 degrees Fahrenheit. BBBRRRRRRR!!!! I I braved the Artic outflow just to get this picture to you. Doesn't it some what resemble the artic waste lands? You know when you go outside on a cold winter morning and the snow crunches under your feet? ...Well things were making cracking, creaking noises. It was a little unnerving and well... a little creepy, lol.
Have a great day everyone wish me luck one not freezing into a little "Chel-sickle" or you might not here from me until spring;-) Posted by Hello

Blake turns 11

Can you believe it? January the 1st Blake is 11! My new years baby is turning into an old man... or is it me turning into an old man. Geesh can't tell anymore, time to get out the bleach, lol (sorry lady's did I accidentally let our secret out ;-)
We had some people over for new years eve and my mom brought over a cake for him it was great.... but I forgot candles and this was all I had. So it looks like Blake is now retirement age, wow time went by quick, lol. Blake thought it was really funny.
On to more current news, I got a wisdom tooth pulled today. It wasn't bad at all, I was very lucky, cause I have heard so real horror stories. Then took Blake, Beau and Taiya to swimming lessons, ran home and through together dinner. Which I have to say was very tasty. How do I know that? No one was talking, so no one was complaining and seconds were requested. And I put dinner right away after dinner because I was getting a little out of control. My taste buds said "More! More!" and my ass said "Stop you're killing me!". I tell ya, I could eat spaghetti every night of the week if I could talk to kids into it ;-)
I learned an interesting tidbit that I thought I'd share with the masses, North Korea is implementing this new appearance law that everyone must have a nice clean hair cut that is short. Apparently they say the long hair sucks all the nutrients form the brain....
Ok guys, I'm done for, I just got my wisdom teeth pulled and I have long hair!! Posted by Hello

Friggin' door knobs!

Ok you know when you have a Bad day, the kind that you shake your fist at the sky or bang your head on the floor over and over again (or both)? And then you sit done and need to vent but there is NO ONE to vent at!?! Welcome to my world!
Blake and Beau spent the night at there dad's and so I thought Taiya, Seth, Nam and I would just relax today. You know, read books, do crafts and basically chill out. Well Seth and Nam were sleeping with me and Seth must have said to Nam, "Look at mom. Doesn't she look all comfy sleeping?"
"Yeah, too comfy." Nam says evilly
"Let's get her up."
"Ok!"
5:30am my day starts... Oh well lets make the best of this. I put on a pot of coffee, feed the masses, read some e-mails, shower up the monkeys (which Seth still figures I'm torchoring him, and put on my brand new jeans (I love the first wearing of clothes, lol). It's an absolutely beautiful day (forget that it's -25 degrees Celsius).
"hey Taiya, lets go visit Nana, get some tasty muffins and come home and do some crafts?" YEAH!!! Seth and Taiya and stoked. We get ready to got Taiya opens the door (or I mean tries to open the door and the door knob falls off.
Oh man! Talk about bad timing. Sorry Nana no visits today we have to go shopping for a stupid door knob. It's one of those things you can't really put off... kind of important.
When we get home, I wrestle it to get in the door, give up , kick the door, curse, then go around back so thankful that I remembered to leave that door unlocked in case this happened.
"OK, I'm ready for yah" and go to it ready to make Bob Veela look bad...
To make a long story short This is a freak of a door and the whole thing must be replaced or moved, both of which are out of my talent range.
OK calm down!... breath... breath. Ok thankfully I have bought a new door knob because I now have to replace the broken back door knob. I don't know what I was thinking but I forgot to open to the door while I was doing ot and the door knob falls off.... NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
"OK GOD I get it. I must practice patience today. I race out the front door all the way around the house to the back and praying Seth doesn't lock me out or I'll never get back in.
No worries everyone I fixed it and I am sitting door now not touching anything and I have just noticed that I have grease al over the front of my brand new pants. Where did it come from? At this point does it really matter? LOL. Just hoping I make it through the rest of the day, lol.
Note to self: I'm not Bob Veela!

Namastae at 8 months.

Good morning everyone!Isn't she so cute? don't you just want to pick her up and snuggle her?
Well I had a difficult parenting moment, hopefully I handled it ok. Just after the kids came home from school, these 2 boys' get dropped off in my driveway and the car drives away. They look like they are about Blake's age so I ask, "Blake, do you know this guys?"
"Oh yah," he says "I forgot they were coming over."
I'm like "Pardon me? I don't believe I was asked." (which really wasn't a big deal but we had guests coming over already)
And then they arrive at the door. My eyes almost bugged out of my head! Theses boys' were Trouble with a capital 'T'. I know one of there parents and you can't get much more trouble than that.
Now before people start yelling and throwing things at me, just listen first. First of all I am a firm believer that each person should be judged as an individual and children should never be had accountable for their parents misdeeds... "BUT"
One of the boys' Blake used to go to school with and he was READLY bad. And of course Blake thought he was really fun and they became best friends in class. But luckily he moved away. But lately Blake had been talking about this "N" boy who is always getting into trouble.
Have you figured out where this is going yet? Yup, Bingo! The same kid!
But I somehow got to take the high road on this one without looking like a meany. I said, "Blake they can't stay we already have guests coming over. Next time arrange it ahead of time and then there won't be disappointments like this."
Well they leave and I waste no time talking to Blake about it. I tried to choose my words very carefully. It felt to me like this was an important moment, were if I pushed to hard(because of parental concern, of course), he would just get mad and push back of do it behind my back. I said, "Blake, is that the"N" you've been talking about? The one that is always getting into trouble?"
"Yes." He says.
"I'm sorry Blake but you aren't allowed to hang out with him outside of school." I get the usual "What! Why?"
"If you take a moment to think about it I'm sure that you already know why. Blake I'm your mom and it's my job to make sure that the people around you are people that I feel (for the most part) are going to make safe and appropriate choices. And "N" has already proven that he is not one of those people.. Blake you are very lucky to have a lot of friends that are a lot of fun and so you don't need to be around someone like this. " He was about to interrupted but I put up my hand and said, "I'm sure there is some really neat things about him and that he can be fun but like I said you have some really great friends and you don't need to be abound some who is going to get into trouble."
He was upset but oddly enough he didn't have a spas like I thought he was going to and within minutes the whole thing was forgotten about.
Later in life (actually sooner rather that later) this will be the kid who smokes, does pot, steals, ect., ect. Why do I say that? His family and life is surrounded by this (and worse). Now ordinarily I would look at him as an individual but when, since before the age on 10, he is already making these bad choices.... All I can do is wish him luck and keep Blake busy else where.
I will not apologies for this decision, as I know I did the right thing but I hope I don't have to do this again anytime soon, it has made me feel bad and judgmental. Posted by Hello

Six weeks:-(

Posted by HelloKevin and Seth this morning, getting in one last snuggle :-)

Well Kevin left for camp today. He'll be gone 6 weeks this time, UGH!!!! Let's see who makes it out alive, me... or my kids, lol.
Lots of things going on here as I'm sure it is with everyone else. But I have a strange story to tell. I went to the book store to buy kevin one for his stocking and as I'm looking around I notice that"The Da Vinci Code" book by Dan Brown is on sale. I didn't want to buy it (for me) before because it was $40 and I didn't realize that it was a thriller (not my cup of tea shall we say). Anyways as I'm thinking about all the good thing people have been saying about it, I notice someone I know. As I am talking to S, this book comes falling off of the shelf(a good distance away which is really the strangest part). S looks at me with this"huh?" look on his face. I picted up the book and said, "looks like some ghost around here wants you to read this." He giggle and we say good bye.
Then I started to think about it, this isn't the kind of book I'd read but Kevin might enjoy it. So I buy it, wrap it up and put it under the christmas tree. Then I started thinking Kevin might unwrap and a say, "why on earth would you buy me a book that you wanted to read?". So now feeling guilty I unwraped the book and put it on my book shelf. Then I felt even worse for unwraping it so I felt like I had to confess to some kind of crime. I tell Kevin about the whole thing and he just laughs and says ya, sure I'll read it. (that bugger, I should have just gave him the book to begin with)
He was planning on taking it to camp with him but I thought I'd take a peek at it... next thing you know I can't put it down. Well the book is here with me and Kevin is bookless in camp, lol.
"The Da Vinci Code is really well written and utterly fasinating. It is a story which was well reaserched. I talks about PHI, 1.618 The Divine Proportion. REALLY fasinating!!!
I hear Nam calling me so I'll have to talk at ya later. Anyone who has read this book already I would love to hear about it.
